The Dawning Restoration of Masculine
February 1, 1992
[Author’s Note 2016: This article is a sequel to "The Mystery of Spiritual Gender" (Aug. 1990). It is important to read that article first. This and the remaining articles pertaining to spiritual gender authority must be read carefully, prayerfully and discerningly. The sole purpose of this teaching is to build understanding within the body of Christ where there has been incessant division for lack of understanding.
Without listening discernment, and based on one’s jaded experiences with and / or culturally informed views of natural gender, the concepts put forth here only lend themselves to more emotional offense, confusion and misunderstanding. In this day of abused and even perverted natural gender roles and identities, these scripture-based prophetic concepts will not be easily receivable by some if not many.
Therefore as a reader, be cautioned and advised by the words of the Lord, “If you can receive it…..” For purposes of understanding this article, the terms “masculine,” “fathering” and “apostolic” may be loosely seen as interchangeable, and similarly the terms “feminine,” “mothering” and “pastoral.”]
For many years now, there has been a teaching afloat in more remote prophetic circles that the Church is on the verge of entering a "third dimension" realm of experience in Christ. This has been described in terms of numerous scripture typologies starting with the Mosaic tabernacle.
According to these pictures, the Church is about to enter the "Holy of Holies" dimension in Christ—a dimension exceeding conversion and Spirit baptism, a dimension never experienced before by a generation-wide Church, the dimension bordering on and finally fitting us for bodily translation. Even the emerging visible prophetic movement is now hailing our entrance into this third dimension, likening it to Israel's entrance into Canaan after passing through the Red Sea and the wilderness.
This article will pursue the same tack through the issue of spiritual gender authority. We are looking at a threefold progression in Christ beginning with childhood, then to feminine-mothering authority, finally to masculine-fathering authority, altogether which is a complement of total sonship.
The Church is about to move out of the realm of government by “mothering” pastoral authority and into government by “fathering” apostolic authority. Since the first apostles, the Church has been without the clear, decisive, complementary unifying element of masculine governmental authority. Her state has been that aptly described by Isaiah:
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.” Is. 3:12
It is the Church's age-long subjection to “childhood”- and “feminine”-class spiritual authority that has left it victimized by its enemies, unable to break the shackles of earthbound pursuits and cares, and has consequently left it corrupt according to the typology of "the harlot." Since the Church has rarely seen true “husbandry” ministry since the founding apostles, She has fallen for whoever in the world has come along to seduce Her.
At this final hour before translation. God is initiating restoration of spiritually masculine ministry to the Church in the true image of the Heavenly Father and of His Son. He will bring an entire generation of the Church into this third dimension of authority. The prepared "Sons" who have been without place in the visible Church for 1900 years will rejoice as the Isa. 62:5 marriage between them and the Church comes forth. The Church which rejected their cleansing directive word will finally embrace them, recognizing them for who they truly are in the Lord.
This transition is underway now. Desert Sons are answering a quiet call from the Lord to leave the desert where they have been outcast and trained to become planted in prepared “feminine”-ruled bodies in advance of the day and hour or their recognition and elevation to leadership. These perfected ones will lead this prepared feminine generation into Her perfection as well as receive final touches to their own perfection.
This will not be the "overthrow" of feminine authority but rather its completion. Fathers do not replace mothers. They fulfil them. Feminine body authority is what brings forth sonship authority! (See Rev. 12:1-2,5). The Church comes from Christ, the Sons come from the Church:
“For as the woman (church) is of the man (Christ), even so is the man (Sons / manchild) also by the Woman; but all things of God.” I Cor. 11:12
Though the Church has come from Christ, She has been alone in the earth without the Sons. By itself, the feminine body structure of the Church has been woefully incomplete though it has considered itself complete.
In blindness, the Church has excommunicated the prophetic Sons She mothered. This has led to Her harlotry in every generation and Her subjection to the false controlling spirit Jezebel manifested through her authority, and in turn in the culture. The Church has drowned in its world-based engagement and become the laughing stock of the world for its hypocritical ineptitude.
Yet the feminine Church has been essential to the birthing of masculine sonship. Sons cannot come forth by themselves. They had their beginnings in a mothering body. So we must recognize the importance of feminine spiritual authority and not reject it just because in its own blind incompletion it has rejected the masculine.
This is changing even now as God does His final planting work prior to revealing the Sons to bring an entire generational Church to perfection. By their silent presence, these Jehus are dethrowning the power of Jezebel from its lofty places in the Church. All this is preparatory to their manifestation, the removal of the veil, and the Church's entrance into the masculine Holy of Holies.
II. An Overview of Spiritual Gender
What do we mean by masculine and feminine spiritual authority? Our August 1990 letter explains that gender is a reflection of two modes of God's nature and personality. God's nature is so vast that He required two sexes of mankind to adequately bear His image in creation.
But we also demonstrated that gender was not only imparted to natural man, but to spiritual man through the new birth. Hence there are those who are born again with the primarily masculine nature of God, and those with the primarily feminine nature of God.
Spiritually “masculine” Christians are marked by certain dominant spiritual qualities different from spiritually “feminine” believers. Spiritual gender transcends natural gender and is not defined by it. It also transcends all church offices and callings even though the callings themselves are marked by either predominantly masculine or feminine spiritual qualities (More on this to come.)
The purpose of this article is to trace the streams of spiritual gender through four levels or operations of eternal life in the church. Before doing so, we will take an amplified look at the characteristics that mark masculine and feminine spiritual gender.
