The Woman and the Manchild:
Key to Understanding the Church Age
The Dual Gendered Seed of the Lord
In order for a human to be conceived and brought to birth, there must be a sexual union between two parents, one male and one female. The seeds of these parents must come together creating one new personality. This is the order of nature.
This natural gender is a picture of heavenly reality. We understand that all creation reveals spiritual reality and function (Rom. 1:20). So it is that gender in man and throughout creation is derived from and mirrors two dimensions of nature within the Godhead, each with its own characteristics.
In science, natural gender is known by certain cells called “chromosomes” within the seed of man. Chromosomes identified as “Y” bear the characteristics of a man. Those identified as “X” bear the characteristics of a woman. These issue from the man bringing forth that which is to be, whether a boy, or a girl, to be born from a planting within the woman (mother).
In the same way that a man is born from the union of two seeds bearing the chromosomes of each a man and a woman, so is a mature completed son of God brought forth through the perfected union of two spiritual chromosomes from within the spiritual “motherhood” of that great corporate body known as the church and also the “New Jerusalem.”
So it is that two spiritual “chromosomes” exist within the seed of God. Two different genetic chromosomal "words" of God must unite in a believer to bring him forth unto birth into complete sonship in a deathless body as pictured by the Manchild in John’s Revelation.
Two Within One
Yes, we have always been taught that there is one seed of God. And this is true. There is no contradiction. There is only one divine seed. The family of God is indeed of one generic seed when contrasted against the seed of the devil (serpent) and the seed of carnal man. It is similar to comparing the human race to the race of animals. Those are different seeds. (See I. Cor. 15:38-39)
But within the one divine spiritual seed are two spiritual chromosomal sets of “genes,” just as within the human family are two natures, ie, sexes. Sometimes, these gene sets are referred to in bodily forms as separate “seeds,” that is, the seed of the man (sperm), and the seed of the woman (egg).
But to avoid confusion, limit the potential for heresies, and to just keep it simple, we will speak of divine gender and chromosome attributes only in terms of two “genes” or “gene words,” not “two seeds.” [This clarification is the main reason for this revision to the original teaching.]
Ministration of the Divine Genes by the Trinity
Further, these two Godhead “genes” correspond to the operations of each of two members of the Trinity.
The divine “Y” gene bringing forth spiritual masculinity is ministered directly by the Heavenly Father into His people via Christ. The divine “X” gene bringing forth divine femininity is specially ministered by the Spirit of God.
[Vital note: Let there be no confusion or mistake in understanding this. This is not to identify the Holy Spirit Himself as “feminine” or to intimate of any hidden “feminine deity” within the Godhead as some have done in attempting to understand this mystery.]
Again, creation shows us the truth. The man existed before the woman, already bearing within him the gene necessary to bring forth woman separately. Yet he was still and only man. Man bears both the Y and the X chromosome in nature, from whom the woman comes forth bearing just the X chromosome.
Even so, the total triune Godhead existing first bears both the divine “Y” and “X” as the One God in all His Persons, being known as the masculine God. Yet from Him the two spiritual genders thence issue forth in His new creation people according to His mysterious workings which we are about to consider.
As we continue to consider the Trinity however, we in turn finally see that Jesus, the Son of God, comes forth manifestly bearing both divine genes as ministered by the Spirit and of the Father. Jesus Christ represents the fullness of union of the “Divine X and Y” in human flesh. This is the meaning that in Him dwells the "fullness of the Godhead" (Col. 2:9).
Ministration of the Divine Genes within Us
From here we proceed to understand how God ministers His divine genes within His people. Looking more closely, we discover that the "X” gene ministered by the Spirit fulfils in God's people all the attributes of God mirrored by human femininity.
Meanwhile, the "Y” gene imparted by the Father fulfills in us the masculine-imaged attributes of God. This twofold reality has direct bearing on the picture of the Woman and the Manchild and goes to the core of who we become in Christ.
(Henceforth in this writing, we will alternately refer to the divine spiritual “X” gene as the “word of the Spirit” and to the spiritual “Y” gene as the “word of the Father.”)
When we have opened to us the meaning of the Woman and the Manchild in light of the two divine chromosomes, and when we compare it to what we see happening in the people of God every day and throughout the Church Age, many confusing things and apparent contradictions in messages, emphases, and practices are resolved.
Receive now the description of the two genders of God in His people as seen in the Woman and the Manchild.
[Note: Henceforth, we will use the uncapitalized word "church" in reference to all believers having the seed of Christ in the generic sense. The capitalized word "Church" will refer to those however who have partaken and developed mainly or only of the divine “X word of the Spirit.” We will use “Church” this way interchangeably with "Woman" or "Mother." The term "Manchild" by contrast will refer to all in the church who go on to fully receive, embrace and develop in the “Y word of the Father.”]
The Woman and the Word of the Spirit
The “X” ministry gene of the Holy Spirit is the first work of God in the body of His People. It is also the majority work. It is the mothering work of God pictured by the Woman of Revelation 12. Everyone who comes into any relationship with God through Christ partakes of this work and receives of this divine gene.
This spiritual mothering work is a soul impartation which ministers the partial “X” identity of God to the soul, ministering to the soul-based needs and desires of God's people. The vision of this impartation is the ministry of God as it is focused toward and impacts the earth. It holds the vision and promise of what God is able to do for man in this present life.
This ministry of the Spirit washes the soul with the blood of Christ, and then ministers through spiritual gifts, miracles, and teachings unto the present, temporal welfare of the people of God here and now.
The word of the Spirit is the word of comfort, edification, exhortation, and blessing. It is the word that presents Jesus Christ to His People and to the world as Savior and Shepherd. The overwhelming majority of people who enter relationship with God do so only through this word. These are the People who go on to fulfil the picture of the Woman in Revelation 12.
The Manchild and the Word of the Father
The Y ministry gene of the Father is usually received as a second work of God in His People, though it ought to be received simultaneously with the basic word of the Spirit. The word of the Father is the fertilizing word. It fertilizes the word of the Spirit, bringing the soul to a complete identity conversion in Christ after the Father’s image. The word of the Father is what brings forth a full spiritual conception unto elect, permanent new creationhood.
The Word of the Father is the minority work of God for this age. It is the gene that endears the believer to the will of the Father in all things. Few believers actually receive more than a rudimentary impartation of the word of the Father into the composite of their spiritual makeup during this lifetime. While everyone in Christ receives the soul impartations of the Spirit, only a remnant receives the word of the Father to become a completely new creation in Christ that will eventuate in a full identity conversion unto the putting on of a new glorified body.
The Fathering work of God is pictured by the Manchild conceived within the womb of the Woman. This is the work that ministers to the heart-based realities of God's People as a unique people with an identity anchored in another world. The vision of this word is toward entrance into that world through a total putting off (circumcising) of the encumberances of fleshly earthbound life. It is the heaven-based, heaven-focused ministry of God centered in the fully sealed new identity heart of God's People.
Here, in the new identity portion of their nature, the knowledge of God through the intimate indwelling of the Father is released unto the saints (Jn. 14:21,23; Eph 3:14-19). By this release the saints are enabled to maintain a clear, direct, independent awareness of the indwelling Father as a final reference point for reality, truth, and practice.
The word of the Father is not so much imparted through gifts and miraculous works as it is through a quiet, unassailable assurance and intimacy of His Presence at the core of the inner being. That Presence provides an ever-present testimony to the believer of his future destiny. It is here that the certainty of one's calling and election are made sure (II Pt. 1:10).
The word of the Father is marked by continual correction, reproof, instruction in righteousness and the call to repentance unto perpetual upward, forward spiritual progress into the identity of Christ alone. It is this gene that presents Jesus Christ as incontestable Lord and Sovereign King over every aspect of life. It is the chromosome that calls the believer to a life of military self-denial through an exacting personal discipleship.
