EAT CAREFULLY

Rev. 3:14 “To the [messenger] of the church in Laodicea write:

Today is Thanksgiving Day in America. It is a day to feast in honor of a past event when plenty was provided out of nothing for the first settlers.

But I see another picture today. It is not a picture of thanksgiving out of poverty. It is a picture of vomiting over plenty.

Num. 11:32 The people spent all [Thanksgiving Week], and gathered the quail … and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp. 33 While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very severe plague.

Today in heaven is not Thanksgiving Day. In the Spirit, it is Barf Day. I see the Lord discomfiting a fat “have-need-of-nothing” Laodicean church (Rev. 3:17).  And I am praying for that discomfiture today here among the Laodiceans of this city and across America.

The people of Israel begged for meat in the desert. And God gave it to them. But then He caused them to vomit it out of their systems. I’m praying for a spirit of internal vomiting today across the land as Laodicean believers thoughtlessly gorge themselves on “quail” and pumpkin pie.

Pr. 23:1 When you sit down to dine with a ruler, Consider carefully what is before you, 2 And put a knife to your throat If you are a man of great appetite. 3 Do not desire his delicacies, For it is deceptive food.

What ruler are you sitting down with today? Is it the King of Kings, or is it the Ruler of this world dressed to look like Him?

The Lord has a controversy with Laodicea. The Lord wants to bring salvation to Laodicea before it is too late. I speak of the fat culture-comfortable church. Today is not a day to gorge. It is a day to put a knife to your throat and to fear the Lord ahead of His Advance upon us.

Many are fat today in the flesh, but the bones are sticking out of their spirit. That’s how impoverished they are.

Ps. 106: 15 He gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.

Rev. 3:17 … and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,

And that is the spirit body with which they will enter eternity.

Not all are Laodiceans however. Many, though fewer in number, are Philadelphians. The Philadelphians in America are also eating today. But inwardly they are fasting. They are awaiting the Bridegroom. They are indeed thankful for what they have in the flesh, whether much or little.

The Philadelphians have been sent to the Laodiceans to warn them and if by any means to get them to wake up. The Philadelphians do not fit among the Laodiceans, but are sent to them just the same. It is the mercy of God upon the Laodiceans. The Philadelphians ARE the “messenger” to the Church at Laodicea.

So what are you today? A Laodicean that thinks he is walking in the “full” Gospel? Or a Philadelphian whose poverty in spirit entitles him to the kingdom of God (Mt. 5:3)?

If you are the former, my prayer is for you to put a knife to your throat and to otherwise get sick to your spiritual stomach over your dinner table today. If you are the latter, my prayer is for your sustenance and fullness in heart to overpower your natural poverty and otherwise to govern all that you may have of the plenty in this life.

Selah.
