"It’s All in a Rubber Band:"

Nature’s Guide to Apprehending the “Opposites” of God’s Word

[This message is adapted from this morning’s message in our family gathering. It was tailored for my 9 year old to be able to understand. May it help us all better apprehend the variances in God’s Voice throughout the body of Christ. For further reading, see the article Spiritual Oscillation ]

A rubber band vibrates.

Stretch it out and pluck one side.

Watch.

The outer vibrations appear as two opposing elastics filled by a blur. But they are an illusion. There is only one rubber band.

Now listen...

A plucked rubber band makes sound. Vibrations produce sound. Anything that vibrates makes sound.

A vocal chord is a “rubber band” producing sound.

The sounds from a voice or a music instrument result from vibration and are themselves vibratory. All sound is vibration.

Words are sounds, and so they vibrate too.

Vibration of sounds and words is measured and pictured by oscillation (“waves” that go back and forth / up and down along a line).

What is true of the human word is first true of the Word of God that it mirrors:

The Word of God vibrates and is measured by oscillating waves too.

The creation spoken into being by God’s vibrating Voice also vibrates and oscillates. That is why rubber bands vibrate and make sound.

What is true in appearance of a vibrating rubber band is true in appearance of the Voice and Word of God.

The Word of God appears as opposite polar bands between which is a blurred area of confusion. Yet the polarity and blur are to us an illusion. It is one and the same Voice.

God may appear to say opposite things in prophecies, when in reality we are only hearing the vibration of His One Voice. This explains the problems of apparent contradictions in scripture, the church, positive and negative prophecies, and in God’s emotions—all of which is an illusion made by His Living Vibration. (In God, anger, laughter, crying and joy are the simultaneously oscillating vibrations of one divine fiery emotion!)

Straight line tools (like rulers) cannot measure turns of oscillating waves without an adjusting mechanism. This is true whether of bends in sound waves, the ups and downs of financial markets, or the curve of a globe. All creation—from atoms to galaxies—is spherical because the voice of God is vibratory.

The human mind is like a straight line tool. As Bach “tempered” all musical sound into 12 black and white piano tones for us to appreciate, so is all Living Revelation mentally tempered for straightness from which we can get “black and white” principles for measuring truth. But our straight minds cannot measure bends in Living Truth—without an adjuster.

God gave us the power of spiritual listening for adjusting our mind’s tempered straight revelation to the oscillating bends of Living Spiritual Truth. Listening requires humility.

Listening is the key to accurately discern Living Truth from antichrist error. It is also key to preventing false measurements of Living Truth, including all manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

Without listening, the mind’s straight measure of revelation moves “tangentially” away from the Living Word whenever the Word makes its next vibrating turn away from the last revelation. (Draw a line against the bottom of a curve. That is a tangent.) Where the line leaves the turning wave, our straight-line principle, teaching or revelation no longer reflects God’s Living Truth, but becomes irrelevant or even false itself.


Without listening, the mind will establish its revelational reflection of Living Truth in place of the Truth itself.  This is because the unlistening mind is proud. When this happens, as the Living Word turns away from the last revelation, the mind will judge the Living Word to be false.

In all cases, without spiritual listening, the mind’s straight line ability to process revelation is yet unable to discern Living Truth from counterfeit / antichrist error, revelation and spiritual activity.

The adjusting of our mind’s revelational perception by the power of spiritual listening is called repentance (from the Greek word “meta-noia,” simply meaning, “change of mind.”)

Our revelational mind must continually “repent” by adapting and adjusting through humble listening in order to stay truly reflective of the Oscillating Voice of God and a true interpreter of the “curved” Living Actions of the Holy Spirit.
