      Clueless to the Invisible:
      _________________________

      Samuel and the National Prophetic

Col. 1:16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities -all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Heb. 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

I Sam. 16: 7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

So here we are again. It's that perennial time in American politics when men campaign for office. And we the church pursue these men around the territory, seeking to make what we can of what. We are asking, "Who is God's man?" and "Who should the Christian vote for?" So people go on to make selections in their hearts and minds about who the best man is on whatever basis. Commentaries are written in the Christian magazines and blogs, and prophecies are put forth about whoever / to whoever. (Someone sent me a Charisma Magazine article showing a bunch of men including Kenneth Copeland praying over Donald Trump. Interesting.)

Well, it's equally about this time of season that the Lord has something different to say about who we are looking at and what our basis should be for how we evaluate these men and the national political structure. And even if you are not in America right now, this article is still for you, because your country still has a leader selection process of some kind. And the prophetic church in your country has something to say about it. And you in turn have to choose what you are going to believe about all you are hearing. You might even be one of those prophets. So listen up.

In this article, the Lord wants to drill down into the concept of the invisible, specifically, the invisible pertaining to earth leadership. This invisibility pertains to two levels. The first is the invisible class of rulership that exists both in the heavenlies and in the earth. The second is the invisibility of the issues of the hearts of those who are brought forth into the public selection process.

          Invisible Thrones and Principalities

Please take a look at what Paul said about the various rulerships that exist in the universe. In describing the authority powers created by Christ, Paul notes two kinds. He identifies visible rulerships. And he identifies invisible rulerships. It is the invisible powers we want to focus on here.

Whenever we are looking at a national public leader selection process, we are looking at visible rulerships. So all these parliamentary offices and political parties--they are all visible class rulership persons and entities. Presidents, prime ministers, kings, senators, congressmen, MPs, MLAs, and cabinet ministers. These are all visible.

Yet here is the thing. These visible rulerships represent only a small portion of what drives the actual authority structures in every nation. They are only the visible tip of what is a monstrously huge subsurface iceberg. Most of what pulls the real strings of power in any country is unseen. This power is wielded by the invisible personages and corporate entities that have the ears and back door access to all the visible rulers. These are the centuries-old banking families and other powerful corporation meisters to whom the visible rulers are actually held captive and to whom they are ultimately accountable--not to "the people."

That this is a fact is even acknowledged and debated in the public venues. If you listen to the debates, you will hear the candidates decry the "lobbyists" and the "special interests" to whom the politicians (meaning everyone else but themselves) are beholden. There is also debate about "campaign finance reform." Yet strangely, at every election cycle, for all the rhetoric, nothing ever changes.

Why does nothing ever change? It's because invisible rulers are just that. Rulers! They are not just influencers. They are rulers. And they have hidden unelected power and positions of dragon-breathed authority behind all the visible rulerships seen by the people--power that is far greater than that of the visible rulers. In some cases, we know their names. But in most cases, we do not. That is why nothing ever fundamentally changes. It is all about how the total world system operates.

"These Are the Days of Samuel" (?)

This brings us to the prophetic factor. What has been the prophetic church's position relative to all this?

I know that these are supposed to be the "days of Elijah." That is what the song says anyway. But when it comes to discernment of the powers that make up national authority structures, the prophetic church has shown itself to function more according to the perception of Samuel, not Elijah.

Samuel was certainly God's prophet. But when it came to interfacing with national power structure issues, Samuel demonstrated a lack of true discernment. In the first instance, once God had rejected Saul from being king, Samuel kept interceding for a rulership with which God was finished:

I Sam. 16:1Now the LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have selected a king for Myself among his sons."

Emotional ownership of a burden is never a good way to go. We've talked before about how intercessors need to know how to distance their own emotion from the burden of prayer, otherwise it becomes their burden, and no longer the Lord's. Similarly, the modern prophetic church has invested too much of its own carnal emotion and identity into its burden for America and other nations, and so failed to discern the true purpose of the Lord in the nation.

But now we come to the main point for this article, which is that--when it came to fulfilling the prophetic search for replacing the national leader--Samuel was given to looking at the "outward appearance" of the sons of Jesse for determining who he was to anoint.  God told him that he had to look beyond the exterior to the interior of men if he was to rightly perceive God's purpose regarding the power structure.

In the immediate context, this is about discerning the "thoughts and intents" of individuals. God said that He looks at the heart whereas man looks at the surface of individual persona, as Samuel was doing. So this is firstly with respect to discerning individuals in national leadership. In a moment, we're going to take this to a different level, but let's just camp out on this point about discerning individual politicians for a minute.

Discerning the Heart of National Leaders

In many ways, today's prophetic church operates just like Samuel when it comes to discerning political candidates and "proving the mind of God" regarding them. The church looks on the outward appearance. But what does that mean?

In Samuel's case, "outward appearance" had to do with actual physical appearance of the sons he was considering. But today, judging by "outward appearance" has to do with what candidates put into their visible party platforms and position speeches. The Samuel prophets are listening for certain "external words" to be spoken. They are looking for pledges and promises regarding certain issues.

And so if the candidates will just confess to uttering these things, the Samuel prophets will bless their candidacy and conclude that "this is God's choice for the next president. This is 'God's anointed one.'" Once they get the pledge they are listening for, the prophets will then utter their declarations over the candidate. Yet the "heart" of the candidate is never examined, or is overlooked as of secondary importance.

A true Elijah class prophet will never overlook the heart in sizing up the nature of the political individual with whom he is interfacing. The heart of the man is the first concern. The Elijah prophet wants to know what is this man about on the interior? Is he a braggart? Is he a womanizer and philanderer? Is he faithful to his spouse and family? How does he treat his opponents? What part does the love of money and power play in his ambition? In what does the man invest to make his money? (Is it casinos?) Is the man's life characterized by honor or dishonor? And so on.

This really is an understated issue in the prophetic. Yet it is of highest importance. Hebrews tells us that the word of God is "sharper than any two-edged sword--dividing soul from spirit" and "judging the thoughts and intents of the heart." Well what "word of God" is that talking about? The Bible?? Well yes, the Bible. But really, is that all?

What is it that the prophets are supposed to be speaking? Is it not the word of God? And if so, should not what they have to say get to the marrow and joints in the heart of man and split wide open the truth about his true thoughts and intents?

Paul himself says that the power of prophetic ministry is in its ability to expose the secrets of the heart:

I Cor. 14:24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; 25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.

So let me ask you, is this what is happening when any number of today's prophetic luminaries are prophesying over these politicos running for office? If these apostles and prophets are going to prophesy over any of these people, then I want to know how many secrets are being exposed and revealed that the church ought to know about before any blessings on campaigns are invoked!

This matter of exposing the hidden secrets of the heart leads us to our next level of considering God's looking on the invisible, not the visible.

          "Seven Iceberg Tips" Theology

We opened up this article by a look at invisible powers and principalities, the real powers behind the visible powers. We said that the visible thrones are only the tip of an otherwise massive submerged power structure hidden from view, but which is responsible for the way the world system is really run, and which is why nothing about that system fundamentally changes from election cycle to cycle--except that the agenda of the hidden power structure comes into more and more open force each succeeding generation.

And here again, the prophetic church has functioned with the discernment of Samuel, not of Elijah.  By and large, the prophetic church in every country has operated only on the level of interface with the visible national power structures. But it has remained essentially clueless as to the invisible substructural throne reality controlling the visible thrones.

The Samuel prophetic looks only on the visible thrones. It speaks only to presidents, and prime ministers, and parliamentarians and overt laws. But it has no clue about the second tier "advisers" to these men who lurk in their shadows, who speak into their ears the will of the ultimate financiers and power brokers birthed in the late night back rooms and bed chambers, and who hold the visible throne hostage to that will.

Instead, the prophetic church is coming up with surface theologies that allegedly speak to how the church can "make a difference" by "influencing" all the "realms of the culture." We have of course talked already about this worldly-wise theology called the Seven Mountains mandate. But it is a theology for clueless Samuels, not for Elijahs. It should better be named the "Seven Iceberg Tips Mandate."

Yet the Samuel prophetic does not even want to "go there." They don't want to go investigate the hidden realms of power. They have no use for "conspiracy theories," however abused that concept may be as well. They only want to deal with who and what the people can see. They only want to pray into the visible campaigns, and continue to pray and hope that "maybe this time" if this person gets onto the visible throne, the anointing will work its charm on the society and all will become well again.

God's Position on Global Warming and Invisible Thrones

Unfortunately that is not how it works. Making changes to the tip of an iceberg does nothing to change its character. If you want to change the character of an iceberg, you have to melt it in its entirety both below and above the surface. You need some real substrata "global warming." David believed in global warming! He had a real vision for globally melting the interior icebergs of the world system:

Ps. 97:3 Fire goes before Him And burns up His adversaries round about....  5The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

You want to talk about "change"? Real change? That is the kind of "change" needed in society. And no politicians have the ability to make that kind of change, nor the Samuels who prophesy over them. It requires a prophetic that speaks the word of God to what is under the tip of the iceberg! It requires a prophetic that recognizes that man looks at the visible thrones, but God looks at the invisible thrones!

And so it is that God is in process of raising up an Elijah-class prophetic that is being taught and trained in the nature of the hidden power structures of this world, and that will be elevated to expose the personages, the secret entities, and call down the fire of God on those substructures as Elijah called down fire on Carmel.

          &&&&&&&&&&

I'm here to tell you today that God is indeed doing this very thing. You haven't seen it yet--most of you. But it is out there. A people is being educated and trained in laying intercessory detonations to the interior invisible thrones of this world system, the same way the invisible rulers secretly laid the detonators throughout the Twin Towers in New York bringing them down in such perfect formation that September day.

God is beginning to raise up a "spy prophetic" that is going into the "heart" of Jericho to get the "intelligence" necessary before the walls are ever going to come down. That process is deeply under way now. But you haven't heard about it. Just believe it. It is there. You will see it when you finally see the "two witnesses" come forth with all the power of God Almighty to call down that fire on the corporate commercial system now holding everyone enslaved to their "social security" number.

Perhaps this article will wake up some of the Samuels to start becoming Elijahs. It would be a great thing to begin hearing a prophetic that really reflects the heart of God toward the world system:

Rev. 18:20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her." 21Then a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "So will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will not be found any longer."

It's time to put the flag away and your "pledge of allegiance." It's time to discern deeper than that, and answer the call to kingdom Exodus, departure from Egypt and flight from Babylon.

Be stirred in your prophetic hearts and minds as you begin to hear a new "revelation of Christ" come forth.

Peace to all in the love of Christ.
