RIGHT AT THE DOOR “So you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.” Mt. 24:33
September 11, 2025
The past 48 hours has seen an unprecedented level of both international and national evil turbulence in line with Jesus’ predictions in Matthew 24. Tuesday’s Israeli attack on Hamas leadership inside Qatar, a neutral sovereign country; Tuesday’s overnight Russian drone test attack (“provocation”) directly on a NATO country; and yesterday’s assassination of Charlie Kirk, Christian leader of the American MAGA youth movement—all converge into a single convulsion marking imminent world war and national civil war.
For us more importantly, these immediate events are harbingers of change-up in God’s plan to transition His readied people from hidden subservient bondage to active expulsion and deliverance from out of the world. This expulsion will mean for some a raising up to manifest spiritual kingdom authority and glory, while for most it will mean a further hidden protective custody under severe testing. The purpose of this commentary is to prepare our people for what this means in real spiritual terms.
In Mt. 24:33, Jesus uses the phrase “at the door” to indicate this imminent sense. In Revelation, we are given more on what these doors are. Early on, John sees an open door leading to heaven through which he is summoned to view heaven’s oversight of the final overthrow of the satanic world system.
Further on, Jesus addresses the churches about doors. To one, He says He sets before them an open door to deliver them from the actual time of final world tribulation. To another, He says He knocks on their door if only He may enter to fellowship with them before it’s too late and He must vomit them out into the world tribulation unprotected, if not altogether out of His kingdom (two other churches are also warned of eternal perishing from out of the church).
The doorway is thus a key spiritual concept regarding our transportation from this realm into the next realm. And that entrance is portended by the multiplicity of evil immediately before us. The question is, are we aware and ready to pass through that door? Is the Lord able to first enter our door so that we may enter through His door (which Door He Is)? What kind of door is this? What sort of door are we expecting and looking for?
To be sure, the door is actually not naturally expectable, either in form or in time. Jesus already told us that the kingdom comes not with observation. That means this door, being a door further into the kingdom, is not a door we can apprehend mentally. Nor can it therefore have a time expectation put on it. This is why He says, “The Son of Man comes at an hour you cannot expect.” It is not an hour on a clock, but rather an hour of a spiritual dimensioning.
This idea of passing through spiritual dimension lies at the crux of what it means to pass through the door. The nearness of the spiritual door is witnessed by the intensity of evil turbulence in the outer realm of carnal experience. This is why Jesus says these things herald that we are “right at the door.” It is also why He tells us to not be troubled, yet to be aware and prepared.
Carnally, we don’t know what is specifically ahead in the outer play, except that in general we’ve been told to expect earthquakes, famines, wars, rumors of wars, and persecutions. But spiritually, we are given to know by the indwelling Spirit that we are imminently to pass through from one dimension into another, from a dimension of bondage under the world system, to a dimension of God-consciousness and indwelling wherein we receive actual power and authority over the nations.
The new dimension at hand will itself have different manifestations according to our awareness, readiness and, above all, investment into Christ’s fellowship. Again, for some it will mean glorific transport between the heavenly and earthly in glorified immortal bodies, for others it will be glorific existence in immortal bodies still confined to the earthly, and for still others it will be a higher state of anointing for power and oneness under the overshadowing of God while yet in the present mortality.
In all this, those transported into glory will take an active role in confronting and throwing down the final kingdom of darkness, while those remaining under mortal cover will remain under protective custody, yet may otherwise be called on to give up their lives in a confrontational position against the darkness. To be honest, the new life is going to first mean death in some form or other to every one of us.
The point in all is that, as we come right up to the gates of spiritual release against the force of fully released evil, we must know how to remain “still and know that I am God.” The worst thing that can happen in this hour is for us to be robbed of our prize and crown by yielding in this development to the consciousness of the severe evil, whether it be some country’s declaration of war, or some important figure’s assassination or even some climactic natural disaster.
This is the challenge within every next crisis en route to the final judgments. Can we remain glued into the Lord? Can our spiritual awareness of His imminence hedge us against the demands, even the screams, associated with the next crisis? This is why Jesus said, “The love of many will grow cold.” Their love for Christ is conditioned on their human welfare rather than stabilized in their spiritual union. Uncultivated, that union grows cold and is abandoned when the natural welfare attached to it comes to an end.
And that is where we are today. Everything we have known by way of human stability is imminently going to change—jobs, homes, cars, families, and places of worship. Societal peace will be hard to find. No more cruises. No more jet-setting around the world for fun. More rounds of masks and vaccines and confinement and making of bricks without straw. But for those living strictly within the Spiritual baptism, these will enter a new dimension, crossing a new threshold into and through the door of the eternal Christ.
Remain vigilant therefore. Hold your position. Resist the temptation to cave as hitherto unknown emergencies take the field. We can make it. Those enduring to the end will be saved.
