A Kingdom Ready to Be Born

When He was on earth, the Lord used the parables of harvest to describe His kingdom in the earth. He said it is like a seed that falls into the ground and dies, but then grows to become the greatest tree of all.

When the kingdom was first released through the Gospel, it died in the ground. It went into a great period of darkness and obscurity. Gradually, the kingdom came back out of the ground and began commanding attention in the earth.

This was seen through many great spiritual moves and restorations since the Reformation. It was in a maturing phase. But now, the kingdom is near to being “harvested.” This means brought to final manifest glory in the earth in synchronization with the Lord’s return.

That manifestation will evidence our greatest graduation from slavery to kingdom freedom yet. On one hand it will be seen by the translation from mortality to immortality for the ready—the “glorious liberty” of the sons of God prophesied in Romans 8. But it will be concurrently and more visibly witnessed otherwise through a great exodus of God’s people out of the world system parallel to Israel’s original exodus. That exodus is what I want to focus on.

This final kingdom exodus is thoroughly described in Revelation through a series of overlapping prophecies. In chapter 12 a woman is given “wings” to fly into the wilderness parallel to Exodus 19:4. In chapter 15 God’s people sing the song of Moses as in the first exodus. In Rev. 16-17, plagues fall on the world’s systems similar to those on Egypt. And God’s people are given a corporate final call to exodus in Rev. 18:4, "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues.”

Again, this is the harvest of the kingdom of God. It is marked by an exodus entirely out from the world’s systems toward the complete and perfected governmental liberty of Christ. The point is, this necessarily means also a total transfer of responsibility and risk for self government under Christ.

First Glimpses of the Manifest Kingdom

Understand, please. There can be no change to manifest Kingdom liberty where there is not first a change of mind toward Kingdom responsibility: “Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.”

So what then does our heightened consciousness of the Lord’s return and kingdom harvest mean? It means God is now calling us to repent of slavish mindsets and to ascend into new elevated realms of responsibility and risk taking outside the security of world systems—outside the banking system, the legal system, the health care system, the educational system, the acknowledged commercial system—ahead of our kingdom system’s appearance.

Listen carefully. A new system is coming to earth. And it’s not the beast system. That’s just a super manifestation of a very old system. The true “new world order” at hand is a new manifestation of God’s kingdom government, economy and culture unlike any before it. This system is societal and has infrastructure. It has administration. It has all the elements and qualities badly mirrored in failing human governments. (And P.S.—it will not be a return to Torah law.)

In its first phase, Rev. 12 describes this new administration as “a place prepared for her in the wilderness.” And it is ready to be revealed. Don’t just see this as a place of “protection” from the beast. It is to be that. But it is much more. It is to be a place of nurture of the formative foundations of the government of our returning Lord.

Just as Josiah the infant king was hid during the terrorizing reign of Athaliah, so will the new kingdom system come into nascent appearance during the very reign of the man of sin and the beast—providing a place of final preparation for our receiving the King of Kings. It will be into this new first phase kingdom system that God leads us in fulfillment of His call out of falling Babylon.

Note however how this kingdom place is prepared in advance of the woman’s flight there. This new “wilderness kingdom system” is not coming without preparation! It is in fact being prepared now—and thus also its transfer of responsibility. The call and awakening to responsibility transfer has already begun.

              From Explorers to Colonizers

The age of exploration leading to colonization of the “New World” during the middle of this closing age is a prophetic shadow of what is at hand. (There’s a reason many of us have longed for a new land to escape to like of old, but there are no more lands to be discovered!)

For over 100 years before the first New World colonies were established, a vast movement of explorers went out to discover the lands eventually settled. Everyone knows about Columbus and his 1492 voyage. Following him was a long line of celebrated European explorers who mapped out the Americas and brought back tokens of their riches to the home land. The eventual permanent colonies at St. Augustine, Plymouth and elsewhere were only possible because of the work of the explorers.

In all this was a factor of ripe timing between exploring and colonizing. Some of the explorers also had a vision for colonization. But their attempts were premature and failed. Nevertheless, at a critical point in the exploration process, the time for colonization became ripe, and the New World was settled.

Here now, at the end of this same age, a parallel spiritual process has been at work regarding the Kingdom of God. Since about 1850 we have been in a period of increasing “kingdom exploration.” Men and women have mounted greater and greater forays into the hidden, unknown realms of kingdom revelation commensurate with our escalating sense of Christ’s near return. (Many of us are among these “explorers.”)

Since 1950 the word “kingdom” itself has come out of the closet to take a center stage in our awareness. There’s teaching everywhere now about “the kingdom” (much of it rubbish marred by carnally shrouded philosophy, but some of it quite golden.) And also in this period of exploration have been some premature and misguided attempts at “kingdom colonization”—failed end time “farms,” dead backwater prophetic wilderness communities and impotent “cultural takeover” movements in the mainstream.

But now we are getting precipitously close to the ripe time of moving from exploration to actual colonization. That is to say, all we have “heard” about the kingdom over the decades is shortly to begin manifesting in practical application leading to an incipient “colonization.” (It’s a scary thought.)

Actual revelational blueprints for life outside this world’s systems is very near to be released. Anointed prophetically confirmable corporate actions will be taken in accord with these blueprints. A clear freedom cry will go forth—“Let My people go”—and the listeners will hear it. This will happen concurrently with the first translations of God’s Sons (again, see Revelation 12 with Romans 8). And all of it will demand a major transfer of responsibility and sacrifice of security.

              Implications of the Present Shakings

The great economic shakings we are now witnessing are the very voice of God issuing this call to responsibility transfer. While they indeed alert us to the nearness of the beast and the dragon, the shakings are more our call to this unmatched challenge of kingdom freedom. Their purpose is to test and separate out the truly free-minded from the slave-minded—the valiant in faith from the fearful and unbelieving—the responsible and mature from the whiners and cry babies. They summon us to a new realm of responsibility and faith-based risk taking outside present systems that is mandatory to obtaining freedom.

The dawning new wilderness system is a freedom system. It will be a faith-based freedom movement in which we say “good-bye” to the homelands of our present nationalities. And it will demand acceptance of responsibility on our part. From the initial description in Revelation 12 it may not appear like much—what with the beast breathing down its neck to destroy it! But it will go on to succeed and overcome to meet our returning Lord. The question is, Are we really ready to answer the call to its freedom?

What do we see in these shakings and how are we responding to them? Are we cowering in fear of losing our jobs and our “benefits?” Is all we can see the developing beast and thinking about a place to hide? Or do we rather see opportunity to enter what until now has remained invisible to us?
